Data Deletion Guidelines

You can play Fernwhisper anonymously (using only a session cookie) or with a development login. This page explains how to request deletion of your stored data.

What We Can Delete

• Player state: traits, ELO, story progress, and active games.
• Associated identifiers: your anonymized player key and dev account record (if any).
• Residual backups and logs: removed on a rolling basis per retention policy.

How to Request Deletion

1. Email privacy@fernwhisper.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request”.
2. Include either:
   • The email you used for your login; or
   • Your current session type (anonymous vs. logged‑in) and approximate last activity.
3. We will verify the request and remove the corresponding records from our database. Confirmation will be sent to you once complete.

Anonymous Sessions

Anonymous sessions are keyed to a browser cookie and may expire automatically after inactivity. You can also clear your browser cookies to reset your local session immediately.

Timing

We aim to process verified requests within 30 days. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period, after which it is purged by routine rotation.
